Actually, freestyle football in Mauritius is not so popular. There are only few real freestylers, knowing exactly what tricks they are doing. Others are footballers, trying to do an ATW (Around The World) and a HTW (Hop The World). Thus, there are not any freestyle football competitions, only some street football competitions.

In April 2010, there was red bull freestyle football world cup in Cape Town, which many people here in Mauritius don’t even know about this event, where as in many other countries in Europe, like England, Holland, France, etc… where freestyle football is very popular. Freestylers perform in the big stadiums during half-time, they appear in TV ads and a lot more... you could even see freestylers performing in Music videos.

Today, Mauritian freestylers are starting to organise meetings among themselves, and little by little, in every meetings there are new freestylers coming.

First ever Freestyle meeting

First meeting was at Caudan, Mahebourg, between only two freestylers, Tizah (Mahebourg) and Teddy (Phoenix). They didn't even know each other, they were talking only on MSN messenger, where they agreed on a meeting.
